Protecting Academic Freedom Through Collective Bargaining: An AAUP Perspective

AAUP’s turn to collective bargaining grew out of a more expansive view unionization than is typical for American labor unions. The mission the AAUP incorporates addressing economic matters, as does purpose unions generally. But adopted means protecting and expanding professional interests profession. This paper surveys various approaches that chapters have used accomplish safeguarding expansion academic freedom.
